APR supported a capital improvement option study in which multiple alternatives needed to be compared against one another and against a previously established estimate baseline. The client and owner needed a more efficient way to review cost differences, understand scope impacts, and identify which options offered the strongest value.
The prior process was cumbersome and made it difficult to compare alternatives consistently across multiple variables.
APR developed an editable comparison utility that allowed ten options and alternates to be reviewed side by side. The tool compared each option to the baseline and to other alternatives, while a live dashboard displayed rankings, dollar and percentage variances, and the sources of those differences.
APR also structured the analysis to show whether cost movement was tied to quantity changes, unit cost shifts, scope variation, or broader change categories, giving stakeholders a more useful basis for option selection.
