APR supported airport estimating teams by reviewing, validating, and normalizing RSMeans data used in cost development and estimate validation. Because standardized datasets can contain anomalies and price misalignments, the client needed a more reliable version of the source data before it was applied to production work.
The effort focused on strengthening the quality of the underlying pricing information rather than simply accepting published values at face value.
APR analyzed current-year RSMeans data against prior years, applied structured data-analysis techniques, identified outliers and unstable records, and coordinated discipline-specific QA/QC reviews with qualified estimators. Where values were misaligned, APR updated them using historical cost-trend methods and technical review.
This process resulted in a more stable and locally useful dataset for future estimating and validation work.
